CALVARY TRI VALLEY IS A LOCAL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP THAT LOVES JESUS AND THE TRI VALLEY.

JOIN US SUNDAY MORNINGS AS WE LEARN JESUS THROUGH PRAYER, THE SCRIPTURES, MUSICAL WORSHIP, AND COMMUNION.  OUR SERVICE IS CASUAL AND WELCOMING, AND THERE IS KID’S CHURCH AVAILABLE FOR TODDLERS THROUGH 12 YEAR OLDS.

WHO WE ARE:

1. We are a church that is founded on Jesus and His Word. (Ephesians 2:19-20)

2. We are a church that places a strong emphasis on the faithful teaching of the Bible.  (Acts 2:42)

3. We are a church that is committed to prayer both corporately and individually. (Acts 2:42, James 5:16, Matthew 6:5-6)

4. We are a church that aims to have true fellowship, koinonia, with one another.  (Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:24-25)

5. We are a church that values a time of worship through song as a vital part of our meeting together, with the primary purpose of simply giving God the praise and glory He is due. (Psalm 30:4, Colossians 3:16)

6. We are a church that strives to serve both the community we live in and one another, reflecting the sacrificial love of God that is freely extended to all through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Mark 10:44-45, Acts 2:44-45)

7. We are a church that has a heart to reach out to those that are hopeless and lost in their sin with the gospel of peace that is found in Christ and Christ alone.  (Romans 10:14-15)

What We Believe:

About the Bible:  We believe the Bible is the complete and final authoritative Word of God, which is inerrant and completely sufficient to guide and teach us in all aspects of life.  (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:21)

About God:  We believe in one God who eternally exists in three distinct yet perfectly united persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)

About Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of Christ (John 1:1&14, John 10:33), that He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35), that He was tempted in all things yet was without sin (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26), we believe that He died on the cross bearing the sins of the world upon Himself (Philippians 2:8, 1 Corinthians 15:3, Hebrews 2:9), that He conquered sin and death by raising from the grave three days later, appearing to many (John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4), and then He ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19), and we believe that He will return to the earth in power, glory and victory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11-16).

About Salvation:  We believe that all are in need of salvation because of the inherent sin nature of humanity that leaves no one sinless, that God cannot accept sin in to His presence making it impossible for imperfect man to inter the presence of God on his own merit.  We believe that by the grace of God, the Holy Spirit will regenerate any one who will come to Jesus in repentance, putting their faith in Him as Lord and Savior and that salvation can be attained no other way. (John 3:16-19, John 5:24, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5)

About the Holy Spirit:  We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling the believer and enabling him to live a godly life (Romans 8:13, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20).  We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit given to believers for the edifying of the Body of Christ (the Church) and for the glorifying of God. (Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11)

About the Church:  We believe that the true church consists of all who are in Christ around the world, that Jesus is the head of the church and that He desires to have unity amongst all believers (Romans 12:4-5, 1 Corinthians 1:10, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 4:1-6, 5:23).  We believe that the distinct characteristic of each believer should be the agape love of God manifesting outwardly in our conduct in this world. (1 John 4:16-17)

Pastoral Leadership

Pastor A. Clay Worrell

“Clay is originally from a small mountain community north of Los Angeles, California.  He was first introduced to the God of the Bible at the age of 13 when a loving Christian family from down the street began to share the love of Christ with him and invited him to church.  On the evening of September 12, 1998, at a concert outreach event, Clay committed his life to Jesus and has been following and serving him ever since.

In the fall of 2004 the Lord lead Clay to attend Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta California from which he graduated with an Associates of Theology.  Towards the end of his time in Bible College, he began to feel a draw towards Ireland, a draw that developed in to an undeniable call from God.  So, from the Summer of 2006 he started the transition to living full time in Ireland.

Clay started his time in Ireland as the assistant pastor of Dundalk Community Church, learning ministry and culture from the Irish lead pastor there.  However, in the summer of 2008, shortly after Clay married his beautiful wife Jannelle, God lead them to Waterford City to start a church plant.  By the grace of God, what started as a few people meeting in a kitchen, grew in to a strong and healthy church in Waterford City Center.  Clay was blessed to be able to raise up local Pastoral leadership that he eventually handed the church over to in early 2015.

From there God called Clay, Jannelle, and their two sweet daughters, Willow (3) and Winnie (1.5), to the Tri Valley where Clay now serves as the lead pastor of Calvary Tri Valley.  The Worrells live in Downtown Pleasanton where they are in the process of setting down roots.

Clay loves Jesus, coffee, and all things outdoors… Jannelle loves Jesus, coffee, cooking, and baking… Willow loves bugs, and Winnie loves bananas, and by the grace of God they are learning to love Jesus day by day as they grow up.”
